Our ancestral lands, along with the health of these lands and their native species, mirror the well-being and displacement issues of Native Hawaiians. Historically, Native Hawaiian communities have suffered from land dispossession, which has led to the erosion of our language, cultural practices, and community cohesion. This dislocation is driven by factors such as development, economic pressures, invasive settlers, and the historical consequences of the illegal overthrow and ongoing occupation of the Hawaiian Kingdom.
